Casa San Lorenzo, Montefalcone Appennino, Le Marche, Italy
Our house is in Southern Le Marche, almost in the Sibillini National Park. The mountain towns of Sarnano and Amandola are 15-20 minutes drive away, whilst Comunanza in the valley is the nearest for supermarkets and all other daily requirements. It also has the full range of pastry and fresh pasta shops and bakeries.
Casa San Lorenzo lies on the edge of a small, almost deserted hamlet, a few minutes from the village of Montefalcone Appennino. It has uninterrupted views of the mountains and is surrounded by fields and woodland. To get to either the sea or the mountains takes about 30 minutes by car
There is a main bathroom, with bath, shower, bidet and loo. Two of the bedrooms are ensuite, one including a shower and the other a loo and basin.
The accommodation comprises 4 double bedrooms, 2 kitchens, 3 sitting rooms. There are also 2 sofa beds and if you really want to cram everyone in, 2 double inflatable mattresses
Like most houses of its type, the ground floor used to be a cantina for storage of wine and stabling of farm animals. Now it is an open-plan sitting, dining and kitchen area. The door from the kitchen leads out onto the loggia for open-air dining There is a second kitchen, for those who prefer to live a little apart, which opens onto a private terrace with arched railings which mirror the arches in the cantina
And of course, when all you want to do is lounge, the private pool is a few steps from the house
