“Sei Camini” Two luxury villas San Venanzo Macerata Le Marche

Sei Camini or "Six Chimneys" is a traditional Marchigiana Casa Colonica, built in the early 1800's. It is located just outside the hamlet of San Venanzo near the hilltop village of Monte San Martino. Recently modernised yet retaining many original features, it is built of thick yellow sandstone that reflects the Italian sun. This keeps the inside cool during the balmy summer months yet insulates the property during winter. Sei Camini offers two distinct self-contained properties connected by a loggia (communal entrance hall). Properties can be rented separately if bookings allow. The Casa Grande will comfortably sleep 10 (12 if you include a convertible settee in the second reception room on the top floor) and the Casa Piccolo sleeps 6. The property is set in over 2 hectares of rolling meadows, boarded on the east by fields of sunflowers or corn, with a steep hillside of mixed deciduous woodland (full of delightful birdsong) to the north, a small vineyard, fruit trees, fireflies, lavender, almond and olive trees. To top it all, there is a wonderful swimming pool to keep cool during those hot, lazy days. A sense of peace and quiet pervades. The views are truly panoramic. The sun rises over the hill top village of Penna San Giovanni, and sets over the Sibillini Mountains. The views to the north and south are across unspoilt hills and valleys and looking east, the hilltop villages of Monte San Martino and Penna San Giovanni are silhouetted against the long views across to the Roman city of Fermo and, on a clear day, to the blue of the Adriatic. The swimming pool is in full sunshine all day, but wisteria covered pergolas and mature willow trees, not to mention umbrellas, provide welcome shade. One inviting built in barbeque and another free standing barbeque are available. Sei Camini commands an imposing position at just over 550 metres above sea level. At night, the stars are breathtaking and the twinkling views of the distant hill villages are delightful.
